3D Scanning of the Convent de Sant Francesc, Montblanc (Tarragona)
Rehabilitation of the Convent de Sant Francesc in Montblanc, a Gothic monumental complex in the province of Tarragona. A surveying firm commissioned the complete scanning of the bell tower — from base to top — to obtain precise sections and cuts of the tower, all georeferenced. 75 scans were carried out with a Trimble X7 over a 6-hour session. In addition to the bell tower, the session was used to document the church interior and other parts of the complex, generating a complete record of the building's current state. The result: georeferenced CAD plans with sections and cuts of the bell tower and detailed documentation of a Gothic building where every stone, arch and moulding is recorded with millimetric precision.
