3D Scanning of the VIP Area at Club Sutton, Barcelona

Club Sutton is one of Barcelona's most well-known nightclubs. An interior design company specializing in hospitality contacted Registra3D urgently: they needed to manufacture all sofas and armrests for the VIP area, fitted to the millimeter against the organic curved shapes of the printed concrete structures that define the space. Measuring these geometries with traditional methods is unfeasible. Every curve is unique, with no straight lines or standard angles. 50 scans were carried out with a Trimble X7 to cover every angle and eliminate blind spots. The complete geometry was captured in 4 hours. Two days later, the client had CAD plans with all shapes adjusted for cutting and manufacturing without errors or on-site corrections.
